Right after the Gold Mining trip in the morning, we head over to Jiu Fen. Jiu Fen is literally known as "nine portions" is a mountain area in Ruifang district. Apparently, during the Qing Dynasty, this place housed 9 families and everytime they will request for 9 "portions" when shipments arrived.
Hence, the name of Jiu Fen. For more information, you can read it over here.
It is located near the gold mining area I blogged previously. It is basically a street that sells many varieties and this place is famous for it's taro ball. But I honestly think it is a little overrated.
I will let the pictures do the talking.
It is quite an old street
And it is crowded! Super crowded!
Love all the weird and quirky stuffs they sell here
Maltose candy
THESE yam cakes are delicious but SUPER expensive!
This is how they sell their anchovies.
Stumble upon this really cool looking shop
The many wishes of people around the world
The famous Auntie A-Gan Sweet Taro Ball! Wait till you see the amount of people queuing up!
And also the amount of people sitting on the stairs eating
The warm taro ball
And this is the cold taro ball
We then end our day eating and shopping at the famous Shih Lin night market!
There are two different place. This is the close area. (on the left once you get down from the MRT Station)
This is the open area night stall (on the right once you get down from MRT)
Had their famous XXL chicken chop!
Super LOVE IT! And cheap too. I think it is about NT550 (RM5.50)
Had the best ping tong wu lou!
Strawberries were extremely sweet! And they're only NT200 (RM2)
And of course I did lots of shopping!
